Ashley was born and raised in Lone Tree, Colorado. After high school, she attended Portland State University and got her Bachelor’s degree in Community Development. Not knowing what she wanted to do after college, she thought back to her previous experience through work and volunteering and realized the main things she enjoyed through it all were working with kids and building relationships. She originally applied to Friends of the Children right out of college but did not have the experience needed for the position. She went on to work at a head start program in Vancouver where the passion for helping kids grow and succeed grew stronger. After two years there gaining knowledge and experience, she came back to Friends of the Children and got the role of Professional Mentor! When not working, Ashley likes to watch movies, cook, go to concerts, and hang out with friends.
